Humane Society Fundraiser

I haven't been able to post about our loss yet, but our dear sweet Sophie Cat has moved on into the great kitty beyond.  It has been two long, painful months since Sophie died.  We still miss her so very much.  One day we'll be able to open our hearts to another kitty, but not quite yet.  I'll post a tribute to our special kitty one day soon...in the meantime, please hug your furry friends for me, OK?

And that brings me to this bracelet I made...

A little while ago, I was reading through blogs I like & on Jeanette Janson's blog I saw a call for artists to create animal related pieces to donate to a sale being held to benefit the Humane Society.  Being an animal lover, I wrote to Jeanette & offered to donate something.  The bracelet you see above is one of my donations.  I made it to honor our Sophie Cat.  Sophie was a shelter kitty & I know she would approve.

Jeanette also just did a blog post showing the awesome bracelet she created & also showing my bracelet.  Thanks, Jeanette!  I'm also working on a few book thongs, pendants, & Christmas ornaments so that there are some lower priced items in case people want to contribute but cannot afford to give much money.  I'm painfully aware of that situation, and I'm thrilled to be able to make some pieces to donate to a great cause.

If you are an artist who is able to create a piece to donate, please email Jeanette to let her know.  Her contact info is on her blog.  Sophie & all the other critters in shelters thank you.  If you are looking for a loving furry companion, please go to a shelter & help one of those loving animals find their forever home.

  1. Oh I am so sorry to hear of your loss....it just breaks my heart when someone loses a loved one, no mater who they were....but she took a walk over that Rainbow Bridge and she will be waiting for you! Of that I am certain! Love, Sandy

  3. I knew this post was coming, and you've been in my thoughts - and are always in my heart. I hope it gets easier over time, and am sending a big hug in the meantime...

As you know, our two pet rabbits were adopted from the shelter. It's so important that folks adopt! And though we sometimes think we're making the lives of the animals better, they're also making our lives better. I know you understand, and I thank you for donating items on behalf of the critters that need a helping hand.

  4. Aw, I'm so sorry, Debbie! It is shocking to suddenly not have their presence in our lives everyday, isn't it? Wish I could give you a big hug, and cry with you!
